Pioneering E-Commerce Noob Seeking New Host

The Shop will be seeking a new home, which will likely be with Web Hosting Hub. I should have done more research before going with iPage, which has not been a good experience. Initially, I found them easy to use, but at this point, not so much.

The key elements seem to be this:

Do I have the latest versions of IE or Firefox?

Yes, both.

Do I have the latest version of Adobe Flash?

From what I can discern, their CM4 Web Designer utilizes some sort of unstable Java based tool kit, which Firefox doesn’t like and blocks.

In reading reviews of iPage, they have been mostly negative. One customer said that the techs (who are based in India) couldn’t pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel.

So, at the end of the week (when I get what’s left of my paycheck after the gubmint takes its chunk) I’ll be switching hosts.

In the past, I would have taken this as a sign that I’m not meant to be an entrepreneur. At this time I’m saying I want to be, so I shall. We’ve hit a bump, but it’s early. Fix the damn wagon wheel and keep going.

Web Hosting Hub has U.S. based tech support. The fact that iPage outsources their tech support would have stopped me from signing up with them in the first place, if I’d done my research.

The problem with the bipolar brain is it tends to want to leap before it looks. Time and tide have made me more cautious overall, but sometimes I still have a tendency to get into things without checking them out fully first.

Windows 8 is a Nightmare

For possibly very stupid reasons, and the fact that I’m not a computer wizard, I surmised that I needed to upgrade my O.S. because of the problems I was having building my webpage. So yes, now I get the page designer up with no problem, but I’ve had a myriad of other hellish issues.

First of all, many of my programs disappeared. I had to reinstall Office (a trial version, because Windows 8 won’t run my older version) my Adobe CS6, and my Norton.

I also ended up with a a bunch of malware.

I’m still trying to get rid of this monstrosity called Jolly Wallet.

Anybody who creates these malware programs should be strung up by their tenderest of parts and left hung out for a pack of starving wolves and bears to consume. And that’s being nice.

I don’t feel like creating web pages or finding products or writing creatively any more. I feel like curling up in a fetal position.

You may be more computer savvy than I am, so you may not have the troubles I did. But for the rest of us, do yourself a favor and think really, really hard before installing Windows 8. It makes Vista look like the best OS ever!

Site Building Frustrations

Finding and publishing this is not all I got done today, but it’s all the more I can do right now. I found an email marketing system worthy of promotion, and which I plan to try myself. However, I can’t get the site editor to come up on Firefox, and I don’t care which software designers it upsets, Internet Explorer is a steaming pile of crap. It crashes constantly, and it took me over an hour to enter a little bit of text and a picture. Now it won’t even let me log in. For the moment, I give up.

I’m running the latest version of Firefox. I have the latest version of Flash. I’ve upgraded Java. Yet still, the system grinds on and on saying “be patient while loading Javascript files. At this point I can’t even get that far in I.E. Unfortunately, Chrome isn’t supported.

I’ve decided to upgrade my OS to Windows 8. I’m still using P.O.S. Vista. I don’t know if this will help my other problems, but it can’t hurt.

Hopefully I will have better news later.

Dr. Drum Beat Maker

I have added the Dr. Drum Beat maker to my list of products to be found in Cie’s Everything Shop. The following is a brief informational article describing the product and its features, which aspiring musicians will surely appreciate.

Are you considering purchasing beat making software? Perhaps you’ve got a few ideas or tunes in your head that that you’ve been just itching to try out but did you know you could be making money from your beats?

Even without any prior knowledge you can soon be selling your beats from the comfort of your own home and bringing back a sizable income.

The first thing you need to do is to purchase and download some beat making software. Due to the amazing improvements in technology you can get software capable of creating professional-standard beats for under $50.

Ten years ago only those with thousands of dollars invested in equipment could create professional-sounding beats but today it is available to you or me for the price of just a video game.

There are numerous pieces of beat-making software out for under $50 and one of the best of them is Dr Drum.
Dr Drum features an extensive library of high-quality samples in the professional 44.1 WAV format.

It also has a powerful and intuitive interface meaning you can start creating beats immediately after installation with no specialist knowledge and very little practice.

Other features include a 16 track sequencer; a drum machine featuring 12 pads per kit (and with many kits available) and 4-octave keyboards for piano, synth, strings, guitar and FX.

With a members area featuring extensive video tutorials you have everything you need to get started with your beat-making career.

One of the most underrated features of Dr Drum is that you can quickly get your beats up onto YouTube using the built-in YouTube uploader – you can even easily add videos to your tracks! You can start your beat-making career by uploading your tracks to your YouTube channel to begin promoting your beats to the world.

These first steps mean you can start putting your work on the internet for others to see within minutes of creating your first beats.

Once you’ve gained in experience a little you can start selling your beats at a beat directory such as Soundclick or Premiumbeat. Beats sell for at least $19 a download up to $80 a download for royalty-free beats.

Even if you do start at $19 a download you only need to sell just over 50 beats a month to making $1,000. And who could say no to an extra $1,000 a month income for doing something they love?

The best bit is to get started you don’t need to spend thousands, or even hundreds, Dr Beat is available to you today for under $50. What are you waiting for?

I thru L is Live

The I – L page is live. In the investing category, you will find a banner link to Penny Stock Prophet. You can check out what they have to offer here.

I signed up with Clickbank, which is probably the premier resource for affiliate marketers. I will probably sign up with some other sources as well. One thing I learned in the past is not to take on too much at once. I don’t want things getting out of hand to the point where this isn’t fun any more!

My Cie’s Everything Shop Facebook page is also live. Come like me!

I also changed the site design. Well…I think I did. The old one is still showing up, but as I learned before, there seems to be a delay. The previous website design seemed more appropriate to a hotel or restaurant. The new one seems more “me.” I’ve always liked butterflies!

M – P Is Live

The M – P Page of products and services is now live. I have added a link to my personal proofreading service. If you’re in need of an affordable, honest proofreader, check me out!

For reasons I can’t figure out, one gets the properly updated page typing in, but if you type in, you get the old version of the page.

Web design = not Cie’s strong suit. Which is why I am not advertising my infamously bad web design services!

I’ll leave it alone for now, before my head goes kaboom!

Update: It’s working now on both and There seems to be some sort of delay. Urgh! I’m not a complete noob at this, but yet, I’m such a noob!

The Homepage is Live

So I have my homepage created, and I hope you will take a look. The CM4 Web Creator software isn’t the worst, but there are aspects which are frustrating. I still haven’t figured out how to add HTML content, or if I can.

After a point you have to step back to avoid overheating!

My next step is to find some affiliate content to get going with!

Kind of Like a Hybrid Between a Flea Market and a Cool, Cluttered Attic

So there I was, watching this video about MLM email marketing, wondering how I could get back into the affiliate marketing game without losing literally thousands of dollars like I did last time I tried. I’ve always wanted to have my own business, but for me a brick and mortar store is out of the question. I’d given up on the idea of being an entrepreneur several years ago. It seemed that the only money exchange going on was me giving someone else mine and getting nothing in return.

I once had several domains, because my chaotic bipolar mind wants to do so many things at once. That was costing a lot of money too.

Suddenly, it hit me. Instead of having a whole bunch of domains, why not have one domain which provided links to all the different products I was affiliating with?

I went with iPage as my host. At just $1.99 a month, it was an offer I couldn’t refuse.

Since I’ve just signed up, I haven’t started designing my flea market/attic yet, but take note of this web address for future use:

Cie’s Everything Shop

I hope that I will have a few products available in time for Xmahannukwanzyule and Celebratehowulike.

I intend to disclose that when a person purchases something through one of my links, they are helping a person who lives with mental illness (me) achieve one of their dreams: the dream of having my own business.

Please feel free to reblog this post. Thank you for your support.

By the way, the gal in the email marketing video has some great ideas. Watch her and subscribe!
